Lisa is a web application developer who has been in the internet world since it began in the mid-nineties.
Over the years, she has created custom apps for a variety of organizations ranging from forestry and mining to scheduling volunteers at a homeless shelter. Aside from custom applications, Lisa has also done a great deal work with e-commerce and content management systems such as WordPress and Joomla.
Lisa has always had a strong interest in technology. Her first career was as a radio newscaster and reporter. However, as she puts it "I saw the future, and it wasn't broadcasting." She decided on a career change and applied her communication skills to the I.T. world. She spent several years as a cooperate trainer traveling throughout B.C. and Alberta showing staff how to use their computers better. This experience gave her a valuable insight into how users think and how companies can best use information technology.
As the internet took off, Lisa focused on leaning more about web technology. She honed her skills working as a web developer in a web design company. In 2003, she branched out on her own and hasn't looked back.
"I love my job." she says "I get to work with interesting people doing interesting things. I'm always learning to keep up with new trends and ideas and I really enjoy helping people turn their digital dreams into reality."
When she's not in front of the computer, you'll find Lisa in the great outdoors rock climbing, horseback riding or mountain biking.
