In WordPress, by default, most pages and blogs allow site users to comment on your content. In theory, this is a great way to begin a conversation with your audience and build a following. In real life though, it's an invitation to spammers to add questionable links on your site. Sad, but true.
How To Disable Comments On A Page Or Post
- Edit the page.
- Scroll down to under the Edit content box, and you should see an area called 'Discussion'*.
This sets the discussion permissions for this page or post.
- Un-check the 'Allow Comments' box.
This will remove the comments box from the page.
- Click 'Publish' to save changes.
* If you don't see the Discussion box, you may need to turn it on through Screen Options.
This only removes the comments area for that one page. You'll probably see a notice on the page saying 'comments closed'. That can be removed as well, but it's done through the template you are using.
You can also disable the comments on all new pages and posts through the settings area.
