If your website is in WordPress, and you have a page or a blog entry that you only want a few people to view, you can password protect the page. The user has to enter a password in order to see the page.
How To Password Protect a Page
- Edit the page.
- In the Publish box, you'll see 'Visbility'
- Click 'Edit'
The box expands to display all the options.
Public - everyone can see it
Password Protected - need a password to see it
Private - Must be logged into WordPress and have permission to see it
- Click 'Password'
- Enter the password you want.
- Click 'Ok' to save the changes.
Once you've logged into the page, it remembers that and won't show you the page again. That's handy if you're using it a lot, but may give you the false impression that the page isn't password protected.
